I just returned from a transformational week at Virtuoso Travel Week, a global gathering of the most respected luxury travel advisors, hoteliers, cruise lines, tour operators, and destination experts from around the world. After six full days and over 160 meetings, three travel trends became very clear:

Memories Over Material Gifts Grandparents are increasingly picking trips over trinkets. Why buy another Xbox or the latest iPhone when you can give your children and grandchildren a shared memory they’ll talk about for decades? These are the “three-generation” trips where everyone—from toddlers to teens to retirees—gets to experience something meaningful together. Picture this: a villa in Tuscany with a private chef, a guided safari in South Africa, or a small-ship cruise where your whole family gathers on the top deck at sunset. While the logistics can be intricate—considering various ages, interests, and mobility levels—this is my specialty. The true reward lies in witnessing your family connect deeply without the distraction of screens, creating unforgettable memories together.

I’m noticing an increasing number of women who are booking trips for themselves—whether truly solo or as part of a group of like-minded travelers, but with their own space and privacy included. These travelers seek the freedom to set their own pace without the stress of safety concerns or the need to plan every detail. Escorted tours, small-group journeys, and luxury cruises are ideal for this: they provide the comfort of a built-in social circle while also allowing for the option to retreat to one’s own room at the end of the day. Whether it’s a cooking class in Provence, an expedition to Antarctica, or exploring Japan during cherry blossom season, the common theme is independence without isolation. Many of my supplier partners are currently offering promotions with low or sometimes no solo supplements!

Private jet journeys are not about ‘flash’, they’re about efficiency, comfort, and access. These curated, multi-stop experiences eliminate the hassle of wrangling multiple commercial flights and those dreaded long layovers. Instead, you travel point-to-point in first-class comfort, often with a small group of fellow travelers. Your luggage? Handled. Immigration paperwork and visas? Managed for you. The experience is seamless from the moment you leave home. One trip I discussed with partners covers the Galápagos, Machu Picchu, Easter Island, and Bora Bora in a single itinerary—without a single wasted day in a transit lounge. Flights travel from east to west, following the sun, and operate exclusively during the day. You sleep each night in the comfort of a luxurious five-star hotel while checking off multiple bucket list items on a single trip.

On the itinerary that includes Colombia, Easter Island, French Polynesia, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Gobi Desert in Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Iceland, estimates show that if you were to take a journey like this on commercial aircraft, it would take 112 hours of flights and a whopping 84 hours on layovers. These flights alone would cost over $30k/pp. A direct private jet journey takes 57 hours of flights and NO layovers (with lie flat first class seats), saving you almost 6 days of your vacation where you are actually DOING things, not wasting time in unnecessary hassle. Your vacation also includes exclusive access like viewing the Taj Majal with no other people around (before opening hours at sunrise)This journey epitomizes luxury and comfort, ensuring that you arrive at each destination refreshed and ready to explore.

If there’s a final takeaway here, it’s that travelers are no longer putting off the experiences they’ve dreamed about. We’ve all been reminded—sometimes harshly—that tomorrow isn’t promised. The “someday” trip? It’s moving to “this year” or “next.” Whether you’re thinking about gathering the family, finally taking that solo adventure, or crossing multiple bucket-list stops off in one expertly designed journey, the best time to start planning is before your calendar fills up. My job is to make it seamless, stress-free, and exactly right for you.
